Op donderdag 12 mei maakte directeur Huib Bakker bekend dat Paula van Tijn op 13 juni start als nieuwe instituutsmanager van AMOLF. Van Tijn gaat leiding geven aan de supportafdelingen van AMOLF en ze wordt lid van het management team. Ze volgt Bart van Leijen op, die op 1 mei vertrok naar de VU waar hij startte als directeur bedrijfsvoering van de faculteiten Aard- en Levenswetenschappen en Exacte Wetenschappen.

De afgelopen vier jaar was Van Tijn werkzaam als programma coördinator bij de Stichting FOM. Medio 2015 werd ze de FOM-contactpersoon bij AMOLF, waardoor zij al goed ingevoerd is in de AMOLF-organisatie. Huib Bakker is blij met de komst van Van Tijn, “Paula is iemand met visie die mensen weet te betrekken en te motiveren. Ze is bovendien een ontzettend fijne collega, ik kijk uit naar de samenwerking!”
